Troubleshooting

How can you prevent these injuries?

It is difficult to get rid of these injuries once they have arisen. All bodies are different and are affected very differently from RSI. It is difficult to get rid of the pain once it´s there and it is also very easy to get the pain back if you revert to working the same way as you have always done. Therefore, it is important to think ergonomic even before you get hurt. You can prevent the onset of RSI with very small means by thinking right from the start.

What should I do to be more ergonomically correct?

RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) is an injury that can be caused by repeatedly using your muscles and joints in the wrong way. For example, by not sitting right by your computer, or holding your hands and arms in an unnatural posture repeatedly for a long time.

RSI and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome are two of the most common causes of work-related sick leave and costs companies billions in absenteeism and health care. In the US alone, RSI and CTS costs more than $ 20 billion in medical allowance each year.

It is not known exactly when

It is not known exactly when the text obtained its current standard form; it may have been as late as the 1960s. Dr. Richard McClintock, a Latin scholar who was the publications director at Hampden–Sydney College in Virginia, discovered the source of the passage sometime before 1982 while searching for instances of the Latin word “consectetur” (“that [he/she/it] pursue”, subjunctive), rarely used in classical literature.[4][a] The physical source of the lorem ipsum text may be the 1914 Loeb Classical Library Edition of the De Finibus, where the Latin text, presented on the left-hand (even) pages, breaks off on page 34 with “Neque porro quisquam est qui do-” and continues on page 36 with “lorem ipsum …”, suggesting that the galley type of that page was mixed up to make the dummy text seen today.[6]

In publishing and graphic

In publishing and graphic design, lorem ipsum is a placeholder text commonly used to demonstrate the visual form of a document without relying on meaningful content (also called greeking). Replacing the actual content with placeholder text allows designers to design the form of the content before the content itself has been produced.

The lorem ipsum text is typically a scrambled section of De finibus bonorum et malorum, a 1st-century BC Latin text by Cicero, with words altered, added, and removed to make it nonsensical, improper Latin.

A variation of the ordinary lorem ipsum text has been used in typesetting since the 1960s or earlier, when it was popularized by advertisements for Letraset transfer sheets. It was introduced to the Information Age in the mid-1980s by Aldus Corporation, which employed it in graphics and word-processing templates for its desktop publishing program PageMaker.
